What is C.A.R.E. Class? (Classes for Academic Reinforcement and Excellence) This is a chance to strengthen math and reading skills.

STEM - Students will work collaboratively on one to two projects that integrate science, technology, engineering & math. Projects will be based around real-world environmental topics such as, but not limited to water conservation or renewable energy. Emphasis of project/learning will be hands on, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

- Basic Robotics (9 weeks)
- Technology Class (9 weeks)
- STEM (Science/Tech/Engineering/Math Problem-Solving) - 9 wks.
- Spanish (9 weeks)
- Enrichment Classes - Additional Project-based classes (9 weeks)

6th Grade Students:
Will automatically be enrolled in Enrichment or CARE classes...
PLUS they will have choice of additional LIFE APP CLASS(ES):
- BAND (year long course) - performance-based; multiple performances throughout the year; beginning instruments: flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, percussion (Meet with band director to choose instrument that best fits you.)
- VOCAL MUSIC (semester or year-long course) - performance-based; extend and improve individual and group vocal techniques
- THEATER (semester course) - students work on sets, stage crew, and/or performing as students prepare to perform a musical each semester (such as "Bye! Bye! Birdie!" "Music Man" and others)
- VISUAL ART ( 9 weeks or semester course) - development of the visual art elements and principles; exploration of various types of mediums; performance-based class with culminating arts festival
- SPANISH (9 weeks course) - emphasis on practical exploration and appreciation of Spanish language and culture; students will continue to learn the basic elements to build strong foundation in foreign language
- TECHNOLOGY (9 weeks course) - Will use variety of formats to communicate information and ideas to target variety of audiences; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, image editing, digital story telling, and other.
- STEM - SCIENCE/TECH/ENGINEERING/MATH (9 weeks course) - Collaborative group projects with emphasis on hands-on problem-solving, real-world application, and critical thinking. In this STEM class students will utilize technology to research, design and present projects that require science, engineering and math skills. The projects may include, but are not limited to, aerodynamics, community planning, and/or other real-world projects. During this class, students will collaborate with local professionals for input on their projects.
- ROBOTICS - BASIC &/OR ADVANCED (9 weeks course) - Exploring the world of coding & robotics
- COMMUNICATIONS (9 weeks course) - development of oral and technological presentation skills; public speaking will be demonstrated through oral presentations, story-telling (digital and print), drama, news reports, debate, school announcements, and other creative presentations.
